The Weekend

This weekend was pretty nice. Today it is overcast and I just feel like hibernating. Doesn't help that I have a little headache. My boss called this morning and it actually made me worried that I slept straight to Monday! She was just asking about Friday night's event, but it was funny.

Friday night was a lot of fun. There were no major fashion faux pas like with the white scrunchy at the last one. I ended up sitting at the table with some of the VPs in the Contract Labor group (the one we have to keep happy). I had a vodka tonic at the reception but that was nicely nursed and I stayed with water the rest of the evening. I had a headache too, so it really wasn't that much of a sacrifice!

I got home at a pretty early hour and decided to watch a movie -- "Finding Neverland". It is SO good. If you haven't seen it yet, it really is worth it. It was probably the mood I was in, but I cried most of the ending. It was very good and Johnny Depp once again proves he is awesome! And Kate Winslet is just so beautiful. Rent it!

Saturday morning my mom and I went to Jen's for a Pampered Chef party. Now, I haven't cooked in forever but this got me in such a mood. I am going to make a pumpkin pie and cranberry salsa for Thanksgiving. And I get to use some of my old Pampered Chef stuff :-). The new stuff won't come in until after Thanksgiving. Maybe I should plan a dinner party at my place. A Christmas thing. Just finding the time when everyone can join might be the hard part!!!! Maybe a party when Jon comes to the country???? A lot of my friends have not met him yet.

My review of Harry Potter: Very good!!!! Go see it. The effects are wonderful and the acting is great. The kids are definitely growing up! They better hurry up and finish up the movies. I really did like it. I will need to see it again to make sure I didn't miss anything. There was a lot going on! And we ALL know the next movie I will be seeing. Mom, be prepared for Thursday -- either before or after the food. We will see it this week.......

Well, today will be spent hanging around the house, doing chores and relaxing. There looks like a Friends marathon on TV, so that is making me happy. Tonight Brian's band it playing in Deep Ellum. Perfect location for me since I live near there! I also get to meet Jen's new man. I will give a full report in the morning :-). He must be a good guy though. Jen is perfectly glowing. While this is a woman who normally has a glow about her, this was especially glowy. It is great to see her like that!

Have a happy Sunday!
