I really think Ryan is trying to Kill me!

I just got back from my Tuesday session with Ryan and he pushed me harder today than I have been pushed in awhile. Well, maybe I was pushing myself some, but we can blame him. I feel good but I am STARVING now. I am also pumped up so I expect to get a lot of work done today.

Other than that, there is nothing too fascinating at this time. It is crunch week so I am pretty much in for the next couple of days. This weekend I will cut loose and have fun! Not sure what is planned, but I will have to do something.

the weekend

The weekend has been good so far. A few exciting moments thrown into reading, cleaning and watching movies. I finally decided to go to fish and had SUSHI on Friday night. Yes, true, fish sushi. Oh my, how I missed Unagi!!! I had been thinking about it for awhile -- adding fish back into my diet -- so this was just a good time. No there will be no red meat or chicken thrown in there, so don't ask! Fish won't be all the time because really, if you haven't eaten it in a while there is a serious fishy taste.

I was reading school work yesterday and came across a HUGE error -- have to write a letter to the editors on that one. They were talking about nonverbal communication and what certain things mean to different people. The discussion of the thumbs up came and the quote from the book is "although the same gesture means 'hook 'em' to students at TEXAS A&M". NO,NO,NO,NO!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if you don't know anything about Texas schools, an editor of a college text book should get that fact RIGHT!!!!!!! (To those who don't know, it means "Gig 'Em" to the Aggies. Hook em is a totally different gesture) Argh. So, if they get that wrong, what else are they getting wrong! I can guarantee my professor won't care, so I am just going to get the address of the publishing house.

So, off to work I go. Have a Happy Sunday. :-)

Funny of the day

My boss sent an email to me this morning saying she wanted to meet with me tomorrow morning at 7:30. We are reviewing invoicing 'crap' as I like to call it. The funny being "Meet me at 7:30". I asked her if she was okay with me being in my Happy Bunny Pajamas...... I am not a morning person. .....

It has been one of those days. Lots to do. I feel productive, but there is so much more I can do. I did get to lock myself in Mary's office today so I didn't get as many distractions as I normally would. There were still distractions though!!!

Gonna run!

Okay, I am never allowed on a scale again. Ryan has dictated. I had one of those days where nothing was going right and I truly didn't feel like I had the progress I should have. He was very sweet, listened to me and then told me the scale was banned. He also said I had to eat more. I didn't meet my calorie quotient today and he actually said I had to eat the remainder before I went to bed. yeah, right. I just wasn't' hungry today. Which is a shift from the ravenous days when I can't stop eating. Anyway, I am on track, I was just having on of those PMS days.

Went to see Hoodwinked on Sunday with Mom. It was a very cute movie. I actually love kids movies because the adult jokes are pretty freakin hilarious. They even wove in classic SNL into the script. I recommend it to those just looking for fun mind candy. And the kids in the theater were pretty well behaved. And, believe it or not, it actually had a good message to it. Make sure you don't jump to conclusions and get all sides of the story.

Ouchie

I fell on my tail bone last night and it really hurts right now! Seriously, 3 inch heals and a puddle of water don't mix. I had one or two beers but not enough to allow gravity to pull me to the earth. It was a nice slip and down I went. I still went to see Ryan this afternoon even though it still hurt but he was able to modify the workout and we even did some stretching of the area. It was funny when he asked exactly where it hurt -- I told him I would wait until we got to the back of the gym to point at the spot on my booty. He wasn't feeling particularly 100% today but he still pretty much kicked my butt. All while avoiding the part that hurt from injury. Dude is good :-).

Now it is homework, cleaning house and a possible to trip to Super Target. If you don't hear from me in a few days, you might need to come look for me. Actually, I guess if I don't show up for the movie with mom tomorrow she will know where to come get me. We are going to see Hoodwinked. I will give my review tomorrow. I really want to see "Transamerica" with Felicity Huffman. She is such an awesome actress and I have heard it is a good movie. It might not be a Mom movie, but it might be a Jen and Mia movie (possibly, maybe???). Or, I will just go see it myself!

Have a great weekend!

Randon Wednesday thoughts

Where did the time go??? I have my three assignments due tomorrow and while they are in draft form, I get so anal about papers, I will be up forever!!! Did I really say I would get them turned in all early??? Again, they are mostly written, but I have to make sure they are perfect so I end up not sending them in until the wee last minute. At least I have enough energy to last me into the night.

In other news, I had to endure the loss of my badge for work. I have NO idea where that thing went -- probably a victim of the cats running off with it. For all the security in that place, it was very easy to replace. I was surprised. I looked everywhere for that darn thing, but it was no where to be found. Now that I have a new one, you know it will appear out of nowhere!!!

Well, I had better get to work. I met a girlfriend of mine at Mi Cocina (oh the great margaritas!!!) so I am ready to get going the rest of the evening!

Oh, and Katie sent a mass email regarding the baby's name -- they are thinking Olivia . Love that name!!! Is it too late to claim that one along with Emma :-). Probably so. Anyway, they are getting close to the birth! I know she is ready for the baby but I am pretty sure Aunt Gail is jumping at the bit for that grandbaby :-).

And I hit that 10 lb mark in weight loss. The holidays slowed me down, but I am back to business. Ryan seriously kicks my butt. It is a good thing :-)

Monday, Monday

Okay, I have the day off today for MLK, Jr. , but it is most likely going to be spent typing papers. Oh the joy. It is a good thing to have the entire day though. That way I am not up doing all nighters and can at least get some sleep.

There really is nothing just fascinating going on. I did go out with Michelle Friday and last night. Wow, what a rebel I am :-). Today has to be a "responsible" day since I have deadlines looming. Not a bad thing really. It just focuses me back to where I need to be.

Well, that is really all I have today. Have a wonderful Monday!

In case you are wondering......

The Sierra Club opposes Alito's confirmation too. Got that email today. :-) My SPCA email didn't say anything about Alito, but you never know how the cats and dogs will go. He, he!

Okay, so I am down 4% body fat. 4 inches in the waist and 4 inches in the chest. Few inches in the thighs as well. He, he! Ryan re-took my measurements today since apparently Tim didn't key in my last measurements...... oops. I think Ryan has been charged with making me happy since my experience with losing the first trainer and nobody telling me. I have his cell number (never had Tim's) and he goes the little extra to make sure I feel comfortable.

That is it for today. Nothing too fascinating happened. Work was good but this allergy attack is just making me miserable. At least I am getting over it! Supernatural is on -- since the Office and My Name is Earl moved to Thursdays, I get to watch it in a first run basis. If you haven't seen it, it is very good. Freaky scary, but good. (However, starting next week, I have the 8:00 slot with Ryan, so I will have to record it anyway.).

Alito Hearings Begin today

As I sit here and read CNN, Alternet.org, and all the emails from my pro-choice groups, I am reminded that today is the day the Alito hearings began. Everyone knows he is the Supreme Court nominee chosen by Bush to replace Sandra Day O'Connor. Most of my readers know my main issue with anyone chosen to sit on that court. A woman's right to privacy (actually anybody's right to privacy) is a huge deal with me and I need to get my head out of the sand and watch this thing that is going on. Sometimes my own little world prevents me from seeing the big picture (only ever so often though!) Alito might be the best we have -- who knows. And you know with the class on persuasion, I will be testing all my theories on you guys :-). (Needed to add some levity. Hehe).

The last stretch begins

I pulled all the information for my class yesterday afternoon. There are some pretty interesting assignments. I am taking Persuasion and Leadership/Development. Both are going to be very interesting. There will be tons of writing, but I am ready now. I am particularly liking the assignments for Persuasion. One is analyzing the presidential campaign of Bill Clinton (thank God it wasn't Bush. I would not have enjoyed that one. I guess his was so controversial, she didn't want to go there!). I have to do a persuasive argument on one of three topics. My favorite is whether it is possible to stop the Bird Flu. I think I will say no. It might be kind of fun to argue the opposite opinion of what I actually have. There is also a paper on Social Movements and in that I have to research the movement of the selection of John Roberts. That will be fun. Don't worry, I will be respectful. I want to make an A :-). The Leadership class will be great too. It is being facilitated by my favorite professor, Dr. Watson. I am really looking forward to it!!!

So, 7 weeks, 11 assignments, work and the gym. Friends..... What are friends :-).

Oh, speaking of the gym, I did get in my second session with Ryan. I feel a little more comfortable with him now. I was having a serious allergy attack yesterday, which really throws off the balance. Lunges and squats aren't easy to begin, but when you have stuffed ears, it makes life a little difficult. I made it through so that is good. He has sworn up and down he is going nowhere so I am stuck with him. Unless of course he dies or is thrown in jail (his words, not mine!)

Have a great Sunday. Gonna start school work!!!

Even I am Impressed

I won't go around yelling hook em horns. That would be sacrilege -- being an Aggie and all!!! However, I do find it very cool that the Longhorns pulled the upset and are now National Champions. From what I saw, it was a very good game. One of my co-workers (the massive Texas fan) gave everyone in the group burnt orange roses today in celebration. He is going to be insufferable for the next year though. :-)

I don't have much else to report though. I need to get working!

Change Stinks!

NY was wonderful. I had an awesome time and really loved seeing Glenn. I haven't seen him in what seems like forever and it was nice just to spend time with him. It snowed on New Year's Eve and the ground was just beautiful. It was hard to come back, and very hard to go back to work. I have this feeling things are going to get interesting. Or at least crazy. I start school on Saturday, so that will just add to the craziness. My friends might not see me until Feb. But it is my LAST session and I am ready to get it over with. At the end of February I will have my Masters Degree!!! (I am already planning the party.......)

Okay, now for the change stinks part of the blog. I go in for my training session on Tuesday and I find out trainer Tim QUIT!!!!! On Sunday. I was, needless to say, a tad ticked off. He didn't call (or, more importantly, the trainer manager didn't call to inform me I would be changing trainers, but that is another story.). I thought I had a good rapport with him and so it kind of hurt that he didn't at least call and say he was no longer there. I did call him when I got home last night and we had a chat. I understand the reasoning behind it, but not the way he did it. But he is young, so I guess I was expecting a little too much. I had my first workout with my new trainer today. His name is Ryan. Trainer Ryan doesn't have the same ring..... Anyway, he is pretty good and he did kick my butt. But I kind of lost a little of that momentum -- but, the silver lining is that the work out is varied. New perspective on the workout. It wasn't personal but still irritated me.

Well, off I go! Later.
