Damn Pothole.....

And all mosquitoes must die.

Okay, Friday night started off well. I went to the gym, had a great workout and then headed home. I was going to Mike's, cook dinner, and just hang out. I leave for Chicago on Monday, so time together is important. Welp, I get in my car, start the trek to Mesquite, hit a freakin pot hole and pop a tire. Damn, damn, damn!!! I pull over, call Mike in my most pitiful voice and he comes to my rescue. Yes, I see the irony of a strong, independent gal calling her man to help change a tire. We won't go into that at this time! Anyway, I proceed to get all the stuff out of my trunk while he is on the way. Well, there is a piece of glass in the trunk and I cut my finger. So, I am bleeding. And I am getting eaten by mosquitoes. They are relentless and will not leave me alone. So, by the time Mike gets there, I am covered in bites. Oh, not happy. So, my hero arrives :).... and we finally get the tire changed (oh, the spare tire fell on my foot and so I also have a bruise..... but that was totally my fault.) and head back to Mike's place. Poor guy is in serious need of a shower!!

I make a pit stop at CVS because I need something for the bites. The cashier was asking how my night was and I caught myself saying "Fine". Then I stopped myself. Not fine -- itching like crazy!!! He was very sympathetic and even made sure I didn't still need help in the tire arena. Aveeno anti itch cream is wonderful by the way! I love Aveeno products.

And, I did get dinner cooked. It was late and Mike had to go to work, but dang it, I set out to make it and I did!! (It was easy -- baked Rigatoni - but I was still craving it after all that fun).

Today was spent getting a new tire. The tire store is around the corner so I was able to walk home and get stuff done. But that was a nice expense I wasn't expecting. Thank God I just got paid. (Silver lining, I guess.)
