Worst Weekend in a very long time

My sweet Sierra went to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday night.  It's been a rough 24 hours without her, but I had folks rally around me as I dealt with her loss. It was kind of a shock for me but I think she knew something was happening.  She cuddled up to me as much as she could that last week.  It was like she was trying to show me all the love she had.  She was 14 years old and  lived a pretty cushy kitty life (well, others have said I spoiled them too much.  I don't think that is possible!).

My main thing was that I wanted to have her cremated.  Jimmy found a cremation place that would actually come to our place to pick her up.  We will be able to get her back in 2-4 days.  The apt pickup made that part a bit easier. While Jimmy was dealing with the guy in the other room, I was able to come to my own bed to cry.  I decided that she was going to be cremated with Mr. Moose's head - this toy she's had since she was a kitten. It was so shabby and tattered!  But she still loved it.  It's fitting.

Fuzzy has been giving extra cuddles to me and I appreciate his ability to know when mamma needs kisses.  He hasn't been an only child for a few years so I am curious as to how he will do.

My little girl just trying to look innocent.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I was wondering if they let you send the moose, so glad they did.
