My friend Regan's twins turn one on Aug 2 and so she and her husband had their party this weekend. It was a really fun party (even had beer for the adults). The girls are insanely cute and I got to see some friends I hadn't had a chance to see in awhile. I got to cuddle another friend's 7 month old daughter and it just made for a nice day. She came to me -- I only had to steal her once.
I was over-thinking their gift though. I really wanted to get them bows (well, headbands with big ol bows on them because they don't really have hair :)). Gymboree did not have the headband bows I wanted - so I abandoned to big bow idea. So, I went to Babies R Us. And because I had no idea what to get them, I spent about 30 minutes roaming. Babies are a lot easier to buy for when you are buying gifts pre-birth :) (for the baby shower, that is....). I just wanted to make sure it was a good gift AND something they didn't already have. By the way, I got them a Leap Frog toy (which I had seen at Katie and Kenneth's house and it actually got used by the girls) and a Baby Einstein video. The cashier at Babies R Us tried to get me to sign up for their rewards program. I told her I would probably never come back to the store (no offense to them - they were very helpful. Want to make that very clear!!!). I need to just stick with Target to get my presents for little ones.
Oh, and some kid stole my cake. Seriously kid???? I put it down to take a pic of the girls with cake on their face. He grabbed it and started eating. Well, okay. I was nice and didn't snatch it back. Figured that just really wouldn't be adult of me :). And it really made for a funny story. At least it wasn't my beer................... :)>.
Okay, that was my Saturday. Tomorrow I really need to hit the treadmill to burn all that cake (and other yummy food they had!).
Next weekend is Vegas!!! Can't wait!
