I apparently have an accent....

I am in Chicago today for business (thru Friday). I never get to go anywhere for work, so I am kind of liking this getting paid to be out of town stuff. I do admit though, I am a stressed traveler. From the car at DFW to my hotel in the target city, I am a freaking mess. I have no idea why. It is a part of who I am, I just learn to live with it. I know the cats are well taken care of, the office isn't going to burn down without me and Dallas will still be there when I get back. I just can't relax. I am sooooo OCD when it comes to travel. It doesn't help that Chicago O'Hare Airport is like DFW on crack. I swear. Maybe it is because I have been to DFW many times and O'Hare only twice, but it totally stressed me out. It doesn't help that they tell me baggage claim is at the wrong carousal! Don't get me wrong, I love Chicago. There are very nice people here. Its just me!!!

I finally got to the hotel, settled in, actually went to work out (where does all that nervous energy go - the treadmill!!!) and then I decided I needed to eat something. My hotel has no room service. Free wireless, yes. Room service, no.... Now, my favorite thing about the hotel stay is room service, especially if my company is paying for it. Luckily there are many restaurants near the Courtyard. So, off I go, on foot (I have no car!). I find this place called Ted's Montana Grill. Okay, this place is AWESOME. I only had the veggie platter and was blown away. I can't imagine what the other stuff tasted like. I sat at the bar because that is where I feel comfortable as a single gal traveling alone! I don't really talk to the bartender, just to order and some pleasantries. But at some point he pipes in with, "Well maybe its because you are a Texan". Um, huh!!!??? I haven't told him where I am from, there is no sign on me that says, "Hi, I am an out of towner". I am texting a friend who says it might have been the "y'all". Ohhhh, yes, might have said that a few times. :) It tends to sneak its way in.....

It is so nice here at night. I was walking back from Ted's and it is so cool outside. Even in the "heat" of the day, it feels pretty good. Probably because there is no humidity here. I wish I could sleep with my windows open!

Okay, that is it. Have a great night and I will hopefully post again later. You know, since I have free wireless at this hotel :).
