It has been a fun weekend! Here is a brief overview:
Friday night I met Jen for dinner at the Melting Pot. Oh my, I forgot the awesomeness of this place! So, so yummy. We were placed in a room that would have been perfect had Jen and I been on a date :). Our booth was in the middle of 3, so we did get to hear 3 dates that came and went while we were there. The first date was a couple getting married in 2 weeks. The second was a first date (we predict this relationship won't last....). The last was very sweet -- they have been married 11 years and I think this was an anniversary dinner. He had roses for her and they were served champagne. I wanted to be on that date!
Our waiter was pretty awesome. He knew the menu, kept us laughing, brought me some yummy martinis. Try the Yin/Yang drink but beware it is definitely more of a dessert drink. It was awesome, however it was ice cream and massive amounts of chocolate. Definitely a dessert drink! We were there for a few hours and had some great laughs. Thanks girl!!!
Saturday night I ended up at the Ginger Man in Uptown. I haven't been there in ages and it was fun to go back. It was the birthday party for someone I had never met. I knew his friend and it was one of those "more the merrier" things. The Ginger Man is a great place to people watch and there were some pretty cute boys. I had fun and stayed a lot longer than I thought I was going to - always a good sign.
Today, I went to see "Little House on the Prairie" at the Dallas Summer Musical with my Mom. It isn't one that I would have just clamored to go see, however it was pretty good. The music was fun, it was a good story, and the acting was good. Melissa Gilbert played "Ma" and she was great. She can't sing all that well, however she owns it and tried. I appreciated that. The girl who played Laura just rocked it and Nellie Olson was awesome. You need a ham in each musical and Nellie was that ham :). I never read the books as a kid and I really wasn't into the TV show, but dang it, now I need to download the books to the Kindle.
Now I am catching up on Grey's Anatomy. I am almost caught up. Owen is a moron and I really don't miss Izzie. Now I need to catch up on "Criminal Minds". None of them are morons and I would miss them all!
